Funding Priorities

UTS is financially independent and doesn’t receive any funding from the provincial government or the University of Toronto. Now more than ever, the school relies on all members of its community to help to fund school priorities.

Our funding priorities include:
Area of Greatest Need – donations are designated by the school to fulfill priorities identified in the UTS mission.

Bursary – UTS has one of the largest bursary programs among independent schools in Canada and provides financial assistance each year to approximately 20% of its students. Financial accessibility is a cornerstone of the UTS mission with a goal to fully support all students who need assistance. Currently, bursary funds available on an annual basis cover approximately 60% of the demonstrated need. A strong bursary program is critical to ensuring that UTS is able to continue to accept and support current and future students who meet our admissions’ criteria.

Principal’s Fund – used to augment and enhance student-centred curricular and co-curricular activities not supported by the school’s operating budget.

Building – for UTS’ future building.
