Discover UTS

The First World War Commemorative Project was commenced by Dr. Paul Moore, a long-time UTS Faculty member as part of UTS' Centennial celebrations in 2009-2010. The vast majority of the material presented here is the direct consequence of his research and dedication. A number of Alumni contributed to the translation of Dr. Moore's research into an online document, with this side spearheaded by Morgan Ring ('07) and Peter Wills ('07). Diana Berbece ('08), Jong Park ('07), Matthew Yu ('07), and Emil Nachman ('07), and Anthony Mok ('07) also contributed to this project's development.

Sources and Attribution

This project owes a debt to the Veterans Affairs Canada database, and the majority of pictures presented here were originally found there. All pictures have their original source attribution marked in the EXIF data where this is possible. All of the Attestation Papers were accessed from the Veterans Affairs Canada site. UTS does not claim any copyright over these images. Additionally, much of the tabular data was also provided by Veterans Affairs Canada and Libraries and Archives Canada, while the information for their stories was compiled from UTS archives, newspaper clippings, and other commemorative resources.
